The Borrego Ministers Association (BMA) invited everyone to an ecumenical community Thanksgiving Eve Service, November 27, in St. Barnabas Episcopal Church.

Members of that church as well as The Community United Methodist Church, St. Richard's Catholic Church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Saints, Borrego Lutheran Church and the Self Realization Fellowship offered a service of prayers, readings, hymns and an anthem by a gathered choir directed by Jinny Perrin. The rector of St. Barnabas, the Rev. Dr. David Madsen was the preacher.

This Community Service is one of several sponsored every year by the BMA. These include a Christmas Cantata, also at St. Barnabas, Dec. 6 and 7 at 7 p.m. and Dec. 8 at 3 p.m. There was a Blessing of Animals at The Christmas Circle in October. On Ash Wednesday, March 5 there will be ashes-to-go at The Circle. And on Easter Sunday, April 20 there will be a Sunrise Service behind The Community Methodist Church.

The BMA welcomes contributions at these services' conclusion for their ongoing work of assisting neighbors in need with food and other emergency assistance. See the website for more information and links for giving. We have much for which to be thankful.
