Artemisa Walker

It is with deep sadness that the family of Artemisa Walker has announced her passing at Eisenhower Hospital, Rancho Mirage on March 16. She and her husband, Richard, have been longtime residents of Borrego Springs.

Artemisa spent most of her working career as a contact representative with the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service and a civilian secretary for commanders at the U.S. Naval bases, 32nd Street and North Island, San Diego.

She and Richard retired to Borrego Springs in 2003 and formerly volunteered at the Frugal Coyote Thrift Store. Artemisa was predeceased by her daughter, Laura-Jennefer Cardona Strasser. She is survived by her husband, son Jean-Pierre Cardona, and stepchildren Christopher Walker and Andrea Walker Grimes and their families. They have been blessed with 10 wonderful grandchildren.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the Fire Department paramedics in Borrego Springs who helped Artemisa so much over the years.

Artemisa was laid to rest at Glen Abbey Memorial Park in Bonita, California on April 25. She was deeply loved.
