Borrego Art Institute's 18th Annual Plein Air Invitational, show ending on April 14 once again offered Borrego a spectacular art experience.
This show is the cornerstone of each season's show calendar at the BAI. A fabulous success with an impressive 52 sales and counting. I had to comment when visiting the gallery recently, "good art sells." The standard of art at this show is museum quality. Breath taking paintings one after another to enjoy and collect.
Congratulations to artistically, indomitable, Kay Levie, who has curated the show for years. Kay's keen curatorial eye and art standard has helped her secure the show's stellar reputation as one of the top Plein Air events in Southern California. Artists from across the country approach Kay hoping to secure an enviable invitation from Kay to be one of the 13 fortunate artists invited.
House Of Borrego Springs West Gallery, Clearcoat, by artist Allison Beaudry, continues thru April 28. A tongue in cheek look back into the 1960's from a feminist's point of view.
Examining the ridiculous things women subjected themselves to in the name of beauty. Show features, Beaudry's, 'Clearcoat.' sculpture's, a collection of 1960's beauty and fitness equipment and interactive documentary with stationary bicycle.
In the artist's words about the show, 'artwork that draws parallels between the sleek curves and seductive finish of basic cars and the male gaze of the female body." Very innovative and thought provoking show.
House Of Borrego Springs East Gallery continues showing, 'Revenge of The Vinyl 2.' Enjoy taking a step back in musical time, explore this extensive collection of vintage vinyl records. Collecting vinyl has increasingly become a top collectible category.
Also celebrating 18 years in business, House Of Borrego Springs East is offering a 50% discount. A compelling, fun opportunity to collect something you might have had your eye on and passed up.
