The Soroptimist's Hawaiian resale-clothing sale, emphasis on shirts at $10 and $25, was yet another success. With many purchasing shirts or donating, all proceeds went toward scholarships that will support women and young girls, seeking economic independence through education.

Soroptimist International of Borrego Springs improves the lives of women and girls in the community of Borrego Springs, California, and throughout the world, and this group was chartered in 1962! Since that time, they have provided student scholarships, small business grants, career workshops and mentorship support for the women and girls of Borrego Springs.

Soroptimist is a global women's organization that was formed in 1921 in Oakland, California, at a time when women were not permitted to join service organizations.
