Senator Kelly Seyarto (R-Murrieta) is proud to announce that he has selected Friends of Leaps & Bounds Pediatric Therapy located in the City of Norco as the 2023 California Nonprofit of the Year for the 32nd Senate District. Each year, in honor of California Nonprofits Day (ACR 50) legislators from across the state highlight a nonprofit from their district that has provided exemplary service to their community.
"Friends of Leaps & Bounds Pediatric Therapy shows what can be accomplished when the community comes together to support those who are in need," said Senator Seyarto.
"The founders noticed a lack of access to therapy services for children with disabilities and took action. Because of them, those children are now able to work toward reaching their physical functioning goals that may have seemed unattainable before. They were the clear choice for the 2023 Nonprofit of the Year."
Friends of Leaps & Bounds Pediatric Therapy works in cooperation with Leaps & Bounds Pediatric Therapy to serve children and individuals from the Inland Empire and North Orange County communities. Occupational, physical, and speech therapists who specialize in pediatrics implement interactive horse-centered programs and activities, including Hippotherapy, Adaptive Riding, Horsemanship Camps, and Sibling Support. These therapies can rapidly and vastly improve functional skills, helping the children become physically independent on a greater scale.
"We feel incredibly honored to receive this recognition and distinction. Friends of Leaps & Bounds Pediatric Therapy was born as a grassroots effort to fill a gaping lack of much needed therapy services for the disabled children and adults of the Inland Empire," said Cassandra Sanders-Holly, CEO and Founder. "One child at a time, our goal is nothing short of improving their quality of life and helping them reach their goals. We are rewarded daily, watching children overcome their obstacles, however, this honor exceeds anything we could have imagined. It truly validates the efforts of so many individuals who have come together to collectively make a difference in the life of a child. We are grateful for each and every one of our supporters who have worked alongside us, and especially to Senator Seyarto and his team for recognizing our efforts to make our community a better place."
This year, California Nonprofits Day is June 7. The California Association of Nonprofits will be hosting an awards luncheon in Sacramento where Senator Seyarto will formally honor Friends of Leaps & Bounds Pediatric Therapy.
