Badwater Salton Sea Race

The Badwater Ultra Running Experience returned to the Anza-Borrego Desert and Palomar Mountain when the 10th Badwater Salton Sea race took place on April 29. The race covers a route of 81 miles from 234 feet below sea level from Salton City to the top of Palomar Mountain, with the finish line at 5,500 feet above sea level. In teams of two or three, 35 teams competed in this year's race.
The two-team men's race was won by Team "Constant Runtime" – Patrick Hrabos and Rokas Zickevicius from Portland, Oregon, with a time of 16 hours and eight minutes.
There were two women's team that won, coming in at the same time of 19:19 were Team "Sunscreen and Bad Decisions" – Samantha Hurlbutt and Rhoda Smoker from Pennsylvania, and Team "Project Valkyrie" – Shaye Haver and Amanda Wilson from Alexandria, Virginia. The two runners from the UK (Great Britain) came in second for the women's team, Susie Chan and Emma Harris as Team "Put the Kettle On," with a time of 21 hours and 44 minutes.
