The La Casa Del Zorro Solar Project, a 750-kilowatt photovoltaic installation, is being erected at the intersection of Yaqui Pass Road and Borrego Springs Road on a 6.72-acre parcel. The Project consists of a Solar array utilizing single axis trackers, six (6) 125kw inverters, and related electrical equipment. Over 2,300 panels are arranged in 20 rows, with each panel generating about 400 watts of electricity.

The Project intends to provide service to the La Casa Del Zorro Resort , and the site is subject to the General Plan Regional Category Village, Land Use Designation Rural Commercial. Zoning for the site is Visitor-Serving Commercial (C-42). The Project is consistent with the land use designations of the General Plan and Zoning Ordinance.

There are no emergency generators or storage batteries provided on site. The Solar facility will be surrounded by a 6-foot-high chain link fence with neutral beige-colored slats. The proposed fencing would be set back a minimum of 50 feet from the edge of the existing roadway.

The $150,000 installation was not yet completed at the time of print.
