"Local Businesses Support Soroptimist's Mission"

Last month, Soroptimist International of Borrego Springs hosted the bi-annual Soroptimist District-wide Conference right here in Borrego Springs on the weekend of Feb. 28 – 29.
Our club hosted several women from the counties of Los Angeles, Orange, and San Diego. Many of these women had never been to our beautiful desert paradise.
On Friday evening, we had a “meet-and-greet” happy hour at the lovely deAnza County Club where attendees enjoyed appetizers, and a no-host bar. de Anza allowed us to use the garden room and the adjacent outdoor seating with couches and heaters.
Chef Vinnie made the most amazing appetizers. They were so plentiful that no one needed to have dinner afterward. The venue was fun and festive, and the service was superb. de Anza is a first-class resort, and Soroptimist of Borrego Springs members are grateful for the extraordinary night deAnza provided for our guests.
On Saturday, the Soroptimist District Conference held forth at Borrego Springs Resort. General Manager Erica Atmaca was terrific to work with and allowed us to set up Friday afternoon so that all could be ready to go early Saturday morning.
Many of the conference guests spent the night at the resort, which graciously provided a special rate. They were also impressed with their rooms and beautiful surroundings.
Many said they would return. Borrego Springs Resort provided outstanding service for both breakfast and luncheon during the event. All the servers were warm and welcoming. A manager was on hand to take care of any last-minute needs.
Our club, Soroptimist International of Borrego Springs, received compliments from all attendees, many who said it was the BEST District Conference they attended. We could not have done it without these two outstanding businesses that represent the best of Borrego Springs. Thank you for your first-class service!
