The monthly gathering of Sundowners was held this month on Feb 21, hosted by Kathy and Jef Johnson, owners of Borrego Physical Therapy upstairs in The Mall.

The crowd welcomed our new Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Françoise Rhodes, followed by Fred Jee reporting on the good news about the recent Seventh Annual Borrego Film Festival – the All Festival Passes were sold out in five days, and was a great success for the community, making more money than last year.

The price of tickets for next year will be going up to meet expenses, said Jee, and they will go on sale at midnight on Dec. 15.

Emcee Brad Tidwell introduced Chamber member Kasey Simrock, La Casa del Zorro Sales Manager, who lauded the resort's Fox Bistro Supper Club specials and new faces at the spa, plus entertainment that should keep folks "rockin' and rollin'" on the weekends.

After a meal of assorted pizza, sandwiches, and refreshments, it came time for the raffle, and the first order of business was dispelling the wild notion that the Circle of Art folks would be going out of business.

In fact, it was all about one of their posters from 2018, the Grand Prize that night, that could be their last poster offered for sale, but that decision is still up in the air. Ron Garrett won the poster in the raffle along with a $40 gift certificate from La Casa.

Last but not least was the fudge. Yes, it's always about the fudge, and was presented to Faye Nelson.
