A hidden stash of methamphetamine was sniffed out by Border Patrol canines at the Highway 86 checkpoint Tuesday Nov. 26.

Agents say the dog alerted them to a Jeep Cherokee, which was waived to secondary inspection.

During the inspection, agents found 89 packages of methamphetamine hidden inside the SUV’s floorboards.

The meth weighed slightly more than 68-pounds, with a street value of more than $129,000.

The driver, a U.S. citizen, the vehicle, and the drugs were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.
