Twenty-seven students were recognized in the 2019 Borrego Springs Elementary Promotions Ceremony, held June 13.

The 27 graduating students are as follows: Justin Acuña, Christopher Alcaraz, Travis Asche, Esmeralda Bravo, Evelyn Cordova, Adrian Fuentes, Carlos Garcia, Anavey Gonzalez, Lylamae Gutierrez, Diego Hernandez, Emma Hernandez, Ulises Hernandez, Maximiliano Hernandez, Jonah Kelly, Chase Leffel, Andres Macuga, Jocelyn Medina, Lani Mosquera, Janessa Nehrer, Kayla Rodriguez, Roman Rodriguez, Martha Sanchez, Preston Sexton, Brian Torres, Briana Torres, Angel Urquidez, and Fatima Vilchis.

Many of the students received awards to end their school year.

Citizen of the Year –Ulises Bravo

Scholar of the Year – Andres Macuga

Achievement Award – Lani Mosquera

Perfect Attendance – Fatima Vilchis

American Legion, Top Scholar –Carlos Garcia

Achievement – Jocelyn Medina

Laptop Essay winner donated by Coldwell Banker – Carlos Garcia

Presidential Academic Excellence – Gold Award. Must be all above mean in all areas of MAP achievement, and have all 3's or above on Report Card – Justin Acuña, Carlos Garcia, and Andres Macuga

Presidential Academic Achievement – Silver Award. Must be at mean or above in all areas of MAP achievement and nothing lower than 3's on Report Card – Travis Asche, Ulises Hernandez, and Chase Leffel

Sportsmanship Award of the Year – Evelyn Cordova

As this class moves on to middle school and on to high school, then eventually college, we are hopeful this world will become a better place thanks to these young minds that will blend into our lives and society.
