Saturday, August 5, there will be a presentation about the upcoming Solar event.

The presentation will be at 10:30 a.m. at the Julian Branch Library.

Fred Delgado will explain the mechanics of the eclipse, where and how to safely view it and provide images of his past experiences with totality.

He is an associate amateur astronomer, who has been working with the Curiosity Peak Observation in Julian for the last two years. His area of work is in the field of astrophotography and radio astronomy.

Monday, August 21, a total eclipse of the sun will spread across the United States, from Oregon on the west coast to South Carolina on the east. This is the first one in about 38 years to have its path of totality sweep across the country. The next eclipse in the U.S. will not be until 2024.
