Fatal Crash at Salton Sea

Authorities are investigating a crash that killed a man along Highway 86 at Avenue 84 near the Salton Sea late Sunday night, according to a Riverside County/Cal Fire statement.
The Riverside County Coroner’s office identified the man as Brandon Cooper, 30, of Thousand Palms.
The crash took place just after 11:15 p.m., according to fire officials. Only one vehicle was involved.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the fatal crash.
