Borrego Springs Under Heat Watch

Borrego Springs is under excessive heat watch, effective till Sunday evening.

The National Weather Service issued a warning at 1:32 p.m. Friday Aug. 25 for the Borrego Springs and Jacumb areas, calling the combination of hot temperatures and high humidity dangerous and could lead to heat illness.

High temperatures from 110 degrees to 116 degrees are predicted throughout the weekend.

Everyone is encouraged to drink lots of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun as much as possible and to check-up on relatives and neighbors.
