The Anza-Borrego Desert State Park and Anza-Borrego Foundation needs the community's help to raise money for improvements at the park to make visitors experience more enjoyable and robust.

The total project cost $40,000 and is needed by Aug. 31.

The Anza-Borrego Desert State Park and ABF applied for two grants, which will be used to get information about the park, its resources, adult education programming, youth environmental education camp opportunities and more out to our communities so we can grow our pool of park supporters and ultimately the health of the park.

Part of this funding will go toward developing a mobile app to help visitors navigate the park with information on specific points of interest, maps, facts about the area and safety guidelines. Another portion will support educating the public about the resources of the park and encouraging activity participation.

However, these grants need to be matched in order for the park to receive the funding. The ABF's Board of Trustees has already donated $5,000 to start the campaign. $10,000 from the County Neighborhood Reinvestment Program was recently donated. But more is needed in order to match these grant funds to complete these projects and support the park.
