Andrew Hayes, a district representative with California Sen. Joel Anderson and willing sacrifice when awards are needed to be given at Borrego Days, has been honored with the Wendell Cutting Legislative Staff Member of the Year award, from the Republican Party of San Diego County. Hayes has been a friend of Borrego Springs, the high school, the chamber of commerce and Borrego's community. He is always willing to step-up and take part and looks at every community he is involved in, as part of his own. It won't be long before this young man, under Senator Anderson's tutelage, will be knocking on Washingtons door in his own right.
The award was presented to Hayes at the recent Lincoln Reagan Dinner (June. 24). The event takes the time to recognize excellence in constituent service and community participation. “It was a total surprise when I heard my name called,” said Hayes. “It’s an honor to support Senator Anderson’s top priority to make government work for our constituents. We are always open to hearing directly from local residents, about their concerns and ideas for improving state government.”
The dinner was one of the largest Republican dinners outside of Washington, D.C., with more than 770 attendees.
