Music video director/cinematographer Raul A. Urreola brought the five-member, 70's rock & roll band "Stone Horse" to the (Sylvia) Caldwell Ranch in Borrego Springs for a video shoot April 24.
Urreola makes short films as well as music videos, and for this shoot he used a drone with ultra-high quality GoPro camera to capture the live performance by the San Diego-based regional touring band. The latest and best technology, says Urreola, a well-respected director in the music video industry, can be used effectively in a highly competitive market to promote bands that rely on the Internet for bookings. Many of the owners of live performance venues look to the quality of music videos to get both a sense of the performers, and the expected level of performance quality, visually and audibly.
This is the third time Urreola has worked on a music video with Stone Horse. After shooting the band's performance at Caldwell Ranch, Urreola was off to find other shooting spots in and around Borrego for still and moving images in the music video.
The latest Stone Horse video will be finished in a couple of weeks, and if Urreola's work on it is as spectacular as his director's demo reel, it should be a thing of beauty. It will then be available on the band's website: http://www.stonehorse.net.
