Community Parks Maintenance

Last updated 5/1/2017 at 10:22am

County Parks has developed a maintenance plan for the new community park, with a live-on volunteer host who can oversee trash removal and other routine park maintenance duties. Utilities (water and electricity) will be paid for by the County, according to Jessica Geiszler, Marketing & Public Outreach Manager for County of San Diego Department of Parks and Recreation.

They will also be hiring seasonal park staff – stationed up the hill at Mountain Borrego Preserves – to regularly assess the condition of the park and manage other operational duties. Seasonal staff will support the live-on volunteer, and can coordinate with other volunteer groups to complete park projects. They aim to prevent the burden of upkeep from hitting Christmas Circle volunteers. All actions will be in place prior to the park’s official opening.
