A magnitude 3.1 earthquake was recorded at 6:47 p.m. Saturday, April 22 according to the US Geological Survey. The quake occurred at a depth of 6.9 miles with the epicenter located 10 miles north-northeast and 18 miles north-northwest of Ocotillo Wells.
