Gridlock Through Borrego
Last updated 3/13/2017 at 6:54pm
It has been none stop traffic in Borrego Springs with cars lining up to view the flowers. Traffic jams in and out of town with Christmas Circle barely moving. One visitor had to come through Julian from Temecula, as the road from Ranchita nose to tail traffic.
The restaurants are battling the crowds with some experiencing a three hour wait time for tables.
As the temperatures have hit over 90F people are being reminded to stock up on water. Even the Borrego Sun has been filling up bottles as people come in and ask for directions and to buy a paper.
The day has been busy for park personnel with the Visitor Centre car park filling up by 8:00 a.m. Staff have been out in the roads guiding traffic due to the influx of people. One resident estimates over 25,000. However as the clock struck 4:00 p.m. sirens can be heard around the town.
