Head-on Collision - Ocotillo Wells

Three local residents were involved in a head-on collision Thurs, March 3, outside of Ironwoods on state Route 78 near Ocotillo Wells. Paramedics were quickly on scene shortly after 8:00 a.m.
Two residents in serious condition were flown out in one helicopter with the third injured driver being taken by helicopter to an alternative hospital, according to authorities.
Family of one of the injured were following half an hour behind and witnessed their evacuation. All injured parties are expected to survive.
The wreck left the rural highway blocked, but vehicles were allowed to pass along the roadside, according to the CHP.
