'Ashes to Go'

"Remember you are dust and to dust you shall return"
Members of the community pulled up at Christmas Circle this morning to have their foreheads marked by ashes to mark the first day of Lent.
In the tradition of sending clergy in to a central location and having them stand in each of the corners to hand out ashes, representatives from two of Borrego's Churches were out greeting residents this morning.
Father Michael from St. Barnabas Church explained "Don't thin of this as a morbid time as after Lent we have the Resurrection." A timely reminder stop for a moment and appreciate the new life being welcomed in to the valley in the form of flowers and new lambs, eager to wander the hills.
