Flash Flood Watch remains in effect from Friday afternoon through Saturday afternoon for a portion of southwest California...including the following areas -
Coachella Valley
Riverside County valleys-the inland Empire
San Diego County coastal areas
San Diego County deserts
San Diego County mountains
San Diego County valleys
Friday afternoon through Saturday afternoon a major Pacific storm will bring moderate to heavy rain to the area. The rain is forecast to begin across Orange and San Bernardino counties during the day on Friday prior to spreading east and south through Friday night. The period of greatest impact is forecast to be Friday night with widespread moderate to heavy rain forecast.
Forecast rainfall totals for Friday and saturday:
Orange County..............2 to 4 inches.
San Diego County...........1 to 2 inches.
Inland Empire..............1.5 to 4 inches.
Deserts....................0.25 to 1 inch.
Localized higher amounts are possible. Rainfall rates of a half an inch to one inch per hour are possible which could lead to
flash flooding.
Borrego Springs is forecast to receive 0.2 inches of rain on Saturday with highs of of 74F on Tuesday Feb. 21.
