Heavenly Pennies

The Borrego Springs High School’s Interact club is at it once again.

Following on from last years success with “Pennies From Heaven” the club decided to repeat the idea to help another cause. This year the proceeds will be given to an orphanage located in Liberia. Monies raised will go toward buying supplies for their students.

This fundraiser is in the form of an ongoing competition between the grades 6-8 and 9-12. Each grade is given a jar, and it’s the students’ job to fill it up with the most pennies. Other classes can sabotage another by putting in any denomination of a higher value than a penny. This causes a decrease in that classe’s score. At the end of the competition whichever grade level has the highest amount of pennies wins the competition and a prize. You can help too!

If you would like to be a part of this fundraiser, you can send your child to school with the money or if you do not have a child in middle or high school you can take the money to the high school office and drop it off there. At the end of the competition there are three winners, one for the middle school, one for the high school and one for a Liberian orphanage.
