The California Highway Patrol incident log noted multiple reports of flooding in the region, inc. the intersection of Borrego-Salton Sea Way and Veronica Avenue near the Salton Sea.
The rainfall is part of a storm system that is supposed to taper off in the Inland Empire around the afternoon to early evening hours of Dec. 22.
Some parts of the San Bernardino County Mountains had seen as much as 2 inches of rain between Wednesday and Thursday.
Though things will start to dry out slightly Friday, a major winter storm will move in from the northwest by Friday evening, bringing widespread rain, snow in the mountains and even some thunderstorms.
That storm will last through Saturday, but ultimately dissipate for a dry, but cold Christmas Day.
