The Rams Finish Regular Season with a Win

Your Rams traveled to West Shores for the final game of the 2016 football season and came home with a win. The Rams 1st possession lasted an entire twenty seconds as Jr. Andrew Morris picked up 48 yards on two carries for the first Rams touchdown. Juan Carmona’s kick was true. Borrego 7, West Shores 0.
After a 4 and out by West Shores, Sr. QB Jesus Ornelas pitched a perfect strike to Sr. Alex Morris who rambled for a 32 yard touchdown. Elapsed time, nine-seconds. Carmona’s kick went wide right.
Borrego 13, West Shores 0. West Shores rallied and scored on the following possession. Their 2-point attempt was good. Borrego 13, West Shores 8.
The 1st quarter ended with West Shores driving and scoring another TD as the 2nd quarter opened. Their 2-point conversion failed. Borrego 13, West Shores 14.
Although West Shores recovered their own onsides kick, they went 4 and out. Andrew and Jesus controlled the Rams possession and drove your Rams 87 yards for a touchdown. Jesus ran for the 2-point conversion. Borrego 21, West Shores 14.
West Shores dawdled around, again going 4 and out. Our Rams took over on their own 49. Andrew and Soph. Carlos “Carlito” Garcia demonstrated the Rams speed with 51 yards in 3 plays for another Rams TD. Juan’s kick flew true. Borrego 28, West Shores 14.
Opening the 2nd half, the Rams capitalized on Carlito’s speed and Andrew’s elusiveness and drove 55 yards for the Rams first touchdown of the 2nd half. Juan’s PAT was blocked. Borrego 34, West Shores 14.
Alex ended the Wildcats possession with a pick and got a twenty-eight yard return for our Rams. My Rams tried several new plays, only to go 4 and out. The Wildcats began to eat up the field with passes and runs and scored the lone touchdown of the quarter, but their 2-point conversion failed. Borrego 34, West Shores 20
Carlito took the Wildcats kickoff and got lost in the crowd with his speed. Unfortunately, his 92 yard TD run was called back by a suspicious call by the officials. Not to worry, our Rams got going and punished their way downfield. Coach White put the Jumbo Package in as Sr. OL Abraham bulled his way into the endzone for another Rams TD. Jesus provided the legwork for the 2-point conversion. Borrego 42, West Shores 20.
The Wildcats copied the Rams with an 85 yard return, but that too was called back by penalty. The Wildcats worked their way downfield for their final touchdown of the night. Their 2-point conversion was good. Borrego 42, West Shores 28.
West Shores on-side kick failed and our Rams had a short field. Jesus picked up 20, followed by Andrew fighting his way for a hard fought 3 yards. Carlito finished off the drive with a 24 yard dash into the endzone. Andrew got the 2 pointer.
