Two of this years competitors from Switzerland
The count down is on for the start of this years race, as cyclists are preparing to compete to break records over the next 24 hours.
A map of the course has been included so you can cheer on the 173 riders from 14 countries as the top racers fight to take the title.
Carlos and his family from El Borrego will be providing meals for competitors and support crews throughout the day. And as many of you around town has seen, a lot of riders have enjoyed nights out in Carlee's and last night ate in Pablito's.
800 - 1000 guests have arrived with the teams, which has kept the hotels and restaurants busy and the streets are looking a little busier than normal, but what a fantastic event to have in Borrego Springs.
Local resident and volunteer coordinator, Joe Cussons has done an amazing job helping to organize officials to keep the road users safe and Linda Haddock, as usual, has spun her magic with permits etc.
It's a great start to the season.
