IID Ultimatum for Salton Sea

The Water Education Foundation has stated:
“The Imperial Irrigation District (IID) has given California officials an ultimatum on the Salton Sea, demanding the state finalize a 10-year
“roadmap” for the shrinking lake by the end of this year. The IID gave the appeal this week, urging state officials to uphold their responsibility to
control dust and protect public health as the lake recedes.”
The IID is a critical organization because it holds the single largest entitlement to water coming in from the New River and would account for about 60 percent of reductions proposed for water deliveries.
So, hopefully, the Salton Sea will not be faced with the awkward situation of voter-approved State funding for wildlife habitat.
