The ladies and gents of the American Legion got together on Friday to pay respect to the flags that have served across the County and are now ready to be retired.

The Color Guard and representatives of the League came together to burn old flags that had been gathered from across San Diego.

At noon, when the pile had been retired and their service had been honored, taps was played and the ceremony ended.
