West Shores High School is in Western States Association of Schools and College (WASC) accreditation mode. All sorts and conditions of educators, students, and community members are diligently setting forth, clarifying and substantiating the rubrics that govern our school and its on-going success.

The process includes self-examination, review and assessment of multiple forms of tests and their resultant scores, evaluation of the school’s culture, familial and community support/involvement and scrutiny of every possible sort of condition that the school faces daily. Every aspect of the school’s culture is evaluated and reported on. The final report will be available in the spring following on-site visits from WASC evaluators.

Future grants, programs and eligibility hinges on the accuracy and thoroughness of the report. “The WASC philosophy hinges on three beliefs: 1) a school’s goal is successful student learning; 2) each school has a clear purpose and school wide student goals; and 3) a school engages in external and internal evaluations as a part of continues school improvement to support student learning,” according to the WASB website. Good luck, guys!
