Borrego Sun - Since 1949

Seven weeks into the Borrego Springs Unified School District school year, Principal's, of both the elementary and middle/high schools, awarded 'Student of the Month' at the monthly school board meeting held on Oct. 12. Excited parents filled the community room to watch their child receive an the award and a gift certificate for a free ice–cream.

In elementary school; kindergarten – Mia Avila Siqueiros and Maritza Carmona, first grade – Karen Garcia, second grade – Vanessa Barron and Genesis Cardoso, third grade – Ulises Hernandez, fourth grade – Odin Valdez and fifth grade – Jacob Marsh and Daniela Zunigas

In Middle/High School; sixth grade – Minnie Camacho, seventh grade – Isabel Arteaga, eighth grade – Laurynn Strate, ninth grade – Maria Fuerte, tenth grade – Maritza Vilchez–Reyes, eleventh grade – Lisa Salcido and twelfth grade – Michelle Delgadillo.

The next regular scheduled board meeting will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 9 at 5:00 p.m. in the high school community room.
