Salton Sea - Health Survey

Imperial County is participating in a statewide Health Survey in order to learn more about respiratory health issues affecting residents living next to and near the Salton Sea.

As part of the effort to ensure that all residents can participate in the survey, Public Health staff and nursing students at San Diego State University have begun contacting residents to ensure that there is a working telephone number for the survey. The staff and students are trained and approved to collect confidential information. They carry identification badges and certificates attesting to their training and are authorized to collect the information.

Although Pioneers Memorial Healthcare District and Brawley Police initially warned that it may be a scam and stated they knew nothing about the individuals, it is a legitimate County funded survey. District 4 Supervisor Ryan Kelley says this is a great opportunity to learn more about the respiratory health issues.
