Groundwater Sustainability Plan

The county is meeting right now to discuss the Groundwater Sustainability Plan, an agreement between the Borrego Water District and the county, aimed at solving the continuing depletion of the underground water table.
The county will commit an initial $500,000 to the agreement and another $700,000 later as work proceeds on the plan, which is needed to avoid state intervention. More information will be provided once the meeting is concluded.
