Warner Springs Homicide Update

Warner Springs is still reeling from the death of Carrie Deatherage, 51 at the hands of her own sister.
A resident of the Los Coyotes Indian Reservation, Deatherage was hospitalized with a single gunshot wound to the head, Friday, Sept. 22. and died Tuesday Sept. 27.
Her death was ruled a homicide by the Medical Examiner’s Office as the victim’s sister, Sandra Stoneburner, 57, remains in jail on a count of attempted murder in connection with the shooting.
Sheriff’s homicide Lt. Kenn Nelson, states that authorities plan to charge Stoneburner with murder, after she was detained at her home on Camino San Ignacio.
Investigators have not determined a motive for the killing at this time.
