A shot in the Arm for Flu Season

Last updated 9/29/2016 at 10:43am

Local physicians at American Family Care clinics are already talking with patients about this year's flu season. They're ready to answer any questions about the flu and we invite you into our clinics to talk to them and our patients.

The controversy over when to get a flu shot will be settled this morning when the CDC sets the record straight and local doctors help answer our questions. Some health experts say you should wait to get the vaccination, while others say roll up your sleeves right now and feel the pinch because it's better to be safe than sorry.

The CDC will announce when it's best to get the shot, what's new about this year's vaccines and other influenza facts.

AFC doctors recommend you get vaccinated by the end of October.

They can tell you about an option to better protect elderly patients.

And in case you haven't heard, nasal mist is not an option this year. Studies prove it's just not as effective as the sting of a needle.

A doctor is available at your local AFC to answer your questions about today's announcement by the CDC, including predictions for this year's flu season and what to do if you get sick. We can also arrange for a doctor to come to you.
