UFO Across California

Social media lit up as bright as California's skies Wed. July 27 and captured videos of a UFO.

Witnesses as far as Utah, Arizona and Nevada, reported a slow moving fireball with a green hue travelling through the skies. The object appeared to be closely followed by a second. Officials from various professions gave their opinions, with explanations raging from a meteor breaking up in the sky over Lake Havasu, the Delta Aquarids meteor shower, to space junk and UFO's.

The director of the Griffith Observatory believes the streak of light was caused by the Delta Aquarids Meteor shower.

However, The National Weather Service believes it was space junk re-entering the atmosphere.

Harvard University Astronomers claim it was the second stage of a Chinese rocket coming back to earth again.

When KTNV-TV approached officials from Nellis Air Force Base in southern Nevada, they claimed the light was a meteor breaking up.

U.S. Strategic Command spokeswoman Julie Ziegenhorn, now states the mystery object was the Chinese CZ-7 rocket re-entering the atmosphere around 11:36 p.m. Central time. That's about the same time social media came to life with witness reports.

Ziegenhorn referred all other questions about the rocket to Chinese authorities. I seem to remember the last time we reported on a mystery object (Borrego Springs – UFO Third Sighting), it was blamed on the Russians.
