Semi Blows Tire at Border Checkpoint

A big-rig carrying manure, blew a tire Mon, Aug. 22, while approaching the border checkpoint in Salton City.
At around 11:00 a.m., the blown tire caused the vehicle to cross lanes and head toward the border station, hitting the x-ray machine and two other vehicles as it rolled.
Hazmat was called to the scene due to the cargo of manure. No injuries have been reported. Border Patrol, Sheriff, ambulance and fire departments were on scene and Road Crew personnel arrived to clean up.
