The evening of Wed. July 20, found me and Henry heading for Menghini Winery just north of Julian, to attend the Julian Chamber of Commerce BBQ. This is always a great event. Music and PA system was provided by DJ Dave of Julian. Dinner was BBQ'd chicken, ribs, and pulled pork with all the fixin's.
This was a real feast that all enjoyed.
Commercial business awards included the Julian Pioneer Museum, Barbara Wallace (Sheriff Dept), Julian C or C, Coleen Baker (Julian Library), Julian
Lyons Club, and the Julian Book House. Business excellence awards included Julian Book House, Jeremy's on the Hill, Apple Alley Bakery, Jacks Grocery, Wynola Pizza, The Barn Vintage Market, Julian Mining Co., and the Orange Book.
President's award went to Diana Garrett. With merchant of the year going to Don Brown of Don's Market in Santa Ysabel.
The evening ended with a drawing for lots of fun prizes furnished by different business. This brought a great evening to a close. I fired Henry up
and headed for home. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!
