Mac's Desert Auto also known as Gringos gas station in Borrego Springs has closed its doors for the summer.

In an unprecedented move, the doors have been closed and no indication is being given as to when they will re-open. Surrounding businesses all stated that it was the first time they had seen it closed during the summer, for years.

Usually the shop is run by family members, and customers are hoping the premises will be back open in the fall.
