West Nile Virus - Spreading

According to Coachella Valley Mosquito and Vector Control District, more mosquitoes have tested positive for West Nile Virus.

Mosquitoes with the disease were found in Coachella prompting aerial larvicide applications which will continue throughout the summer.

More mosquitoes with West Nile virus were detected in Palm Springs and Rancho Cucamonga, officials reported Friday.

St. Louis encephalitis has also returned to the Coachella Valley this summer and mosquitoes from two traps in Mecca tested positive nearly a year after the virus returned to the area for the first time in more than 10 years, .
