Wendy's - Card Fraud Alert
Last updated 7/8/2016 at 10:12am
If you've been travelling around California and stopped off at a Wendy's, the advice today is to check your credit card statements all the way back to 2015.
The fast food chain says it has experienced a data breach at several locations nationwide after it was the target of malware. Information targeted by the malware included cardholder name, credit or debit card number, expiration date, cardholder verification value and service code.
Many California Wendy's locations, located in nearly every part of the state, are impacted.
Despite the breach being first detected in February, authorities with the company discovered last month that additional malware has been found. The number of locations involved is now believed to be "considerably higher" than 300, the company said in a news release.
Impacted customers can receive a year of fraud consultation paid for by Wendy's as well as identity restoration services.
