The San Diego County Department of Environmental Health, have lifted the boil water order for the Warner Springs Ranch Resort water system that was issued Thursday June 30, by the State Division of Drinking Water.

Following the order, the distribution system was disinfected by a certified operator and follow-up water samples confirmed the absence of coliform bacteria in the water supply and the order was lifted Friday July 1.

The order does remained in effect for the Warner Springs Estates water system until further notice, according to county spokesman Keith Kezer.

Tests confirmed a positive result for E.Coli and total coliform bacteria in the drinking-water system. The presence of E.Coli bacteria indicated that the water might have been contaminated with human or animal waste, according to health officials.

Total coliform bacteria can come from soils and other sources in the environment and can indicate a problem with the water supply system. The boil water order was issued to ensure all water used is free from contamination.

The Warner Springs Ranch Resort water system, in the 31000 block of state Route 79, serves the Warner Springs Airport, Warner Springs Ranch Golf Grill, the Post Office, St. Francis Chapel and the Warner Springs Ranch Resort, which is closed to the public.
