Salton Community Services District Regular Meeting on June 15.

At the Salton Community Services District (District) meeting, the issue of Burrtec Waste Service becoming a mandatory property tax was stricken from the agenda. It was motioned, seconded and passed unanimously. Mr. Forrest Kerr informed the packed, standing-room-only of homeowners that after the District Board members heard everyone, they weighed the pros and cons of Burrtec Waste Service becoming a mandatory property tax and it was decided that this tax would not be good for this community.

The District’s closed session at 9:00 a.m., before the open session at 10:00 a.m. had been in conference with legal counsel in reference to significant exposure to litigation regarding proposal to place refuse collection fees on the County Tax Rolls. Potential litigation by Emmanuel Ramos.
