Highway 86 and Sunset Drive
UPDATE:
The detour is shown on the map with the green line indicating the detour to hwy 8, the yellow shows the road closure.
Road closing for a 1 mile stretch between highway 86 and Sunrise Drive begins June. 17.
A three mile portion of the highway has undergone undulation and uplift over the years due to seismic activity below the threshold of human detection, but over a long period of time it has created dangerous driving conditions.
Only one mile of the road will be re-surfaced and a temporary bypass will be setup while work is carried out.
