Community Enhancement Funds, Allocated

Non-profit organizations gathered together Monday, June 13, for the public hearings on the county’s proposed $5.35 billion budget for the 2016-17 fiscal year.
Representatives of the organizations stood before the Board of Supervisors to give a two-minute speech seeking funding for causes they say stimulates tourism, creates jobs, and to hold civic and cultural events that lead to a better quality of life.
The Community Enhancement Program (CEP) is funded by a set percent of Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT) revenues. Programs that have received allocations from TOT revenues are as follows:
Borrego Springs;
Anza-Borrego Desert Natural History Association – $10,000,
Anza-Borrego Foundation – $10,000,
Basic Assistance to Sudents in the Community – $7,000,
Borrego Springs Chamber – $90.000,
Borrego Springs Community Concert Association – $5,000,
Christmas Circle Community Park – $34,250.
Warner Springs;
Warner Springs Community Resource Board – $8,0000.
Julian;
4th of July Parade, Inc. – $6,000,
Julian Arts Guild – $5,000,
Julian Chamber of Commerce – $115,000,
Julian Historical Society – $25,000,
Julian Merchants Association – $30,000
Julian Pioneer Museum Charitable Trust – $15,000.
