Salton City - $281,200 Meth Seized

A 27-year-old Mexican citizen was arrested by U.S. Border Patrol agents following a search of his vehicle Sun. May 22, at the Highway 86 checkpoint near the Salton Sea.
Agents were alerted to the mans vehicle by a K-9 team and conducted a secondary inspection, where agents found 25 packages of meth, hidden inside the fuel tank of the 1999 F-150 truck.
The total meth seized weighed more than 28 pounds and has an estimated street value of $281,200, according to agents.
The man, the vehicle and drugs were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration for further investigation.
