The 18th annual Borrego Desert Garden Tour will be held Saturday March 19 but tickets are on sale now.
Celebrate Springtime in Borrego Springs by touring this year's featured locations. The Borrego Desert Garden Tour is an annual fundraiser of the community-based Anza-Borrego Desert Natural History Association.
Houses on the tour include:-
The Copley House
Includes Open House
So named by James and Helen Copley, formerly the publishers of the San Diego Union-Tribune and owners of Borrego's La Casa del Zorro resort from 1960 until sold by the family in 2008.
Creative Spirit
Includes Open House
Step into the courtyard and catch the bright, unique, casual and creative spirit of this garden. Collectibles are comingled among the plants. You'll find a garden cart from India, a timeworn hotel sign, and a pair of old doors attached near the entrance.
Mi Cielito
Includes Open House
"My Little Heaven," it truly is. This manufactured home has been lovingly converted into an Old Mexico mission-style home. The entrance is adorned with a cozy, outdoor sitting area. Desert plants are enhanced with pots, and dried cholla is formed into fun characters.
Cactus Masterpiece
A visitor to this garden will immediately know of the time and love devoted to creating its beauty. Cactus from around the world are front and center here, with intricate botanical configurations that are beautiful to behold.
Secret Garden
Beyond the front gate, you will find a totally enclosed garden. Since 1997, the owner has worked each day, taking care of the many plants that she loves, including trees such as pomegranate, orange, lemon, and fig-and incredible cactus throughout.
ABDNHA's Botanical Garden
Come see what we have accomplished so far! Work began on ABDNHA's Borrego Botanical Garden in April 2015 with desert plants from around the world.
