Borrego Springs - New Gallery at The Mall

Right next door to USA Martial Arts is the “new” Gallery at the mall. Well, not so new. After the Paper and Print Boutique closed in October the space sat empty until Joya Granbery-Hoyt and her sister Pamela Granbery decided it was the perfect spot to have a working studio and a gallery all in one place.
In January, Joya opened her ArtWalk presentation with a wonderful exhibit of photo collages using Navajo rugs and Mandalas as bases, as well her original one-of-a-kind necklaces. In addition, a quilt made of photo collages printed on fabric squares and assembled by her ‘Outside the Box’ students is in prominent display.
This month is all about sister Pamela’s desert and ocean performance art pieces, so dynamic one is left desirous for the rest of the dance. Next month’s March 4 ArtWalk will feature not only the quilt mentioned above, but many of the Outside the Box student’s sculptures.
