The Canadian-American Borrego Cup arrived at the Springs at Borrego RV Park and Golf Course on Thursday afternoon Feb. 18, with sirens blaring and under heavy guard and the watchful eye of San Diego County Deputy Sheriff Billy Painter.

The cup is actually a brass lamp base and cheap serving dish, hastily mounted together but it's still the much-coveted prize awaiting the winning country.

Over 100 players are participating in the Friday and Saturday event.
