In 2010, Team USA and Team Canada tied for the first Can-Am Borrego Cup. The next two years Team USA won it outright, followed by another tie. And then Team USA won again, and last year they tied again. But this year, the Canadians finally pulled it off – their first Can-Am Borrego Cup in seven tries.
There were 54 teams playing 27 matches (two Americans versus two Canadians per match) over the two-day annual event at The Springs at Borrego RV Park and Golf Course. With Cup organizer and LPGA teaching pro Brandy Casey matching as closely as possible handicaps for each competing team (there were five tied/all-square matches), the Canadians won the 2016 Can-Am Borrego Cup by a single match, 17-16.
